Our core product is our fuel storage tanks ranging in size from 450 litres to 1.2 million litres. An excellent example of this are our Bitumen Storage tanks.

Austank is a wholly owned Australian business based in Carrum Downs, Melbourne, Australia. We are passionate about being part of a robust Australian manufacturing industry and supply chain.

We are a team of highly skilled Australians who enjoy the work we do and are very proud of the results we produce for our customers. It is critical to us that we mentor and train the next generation so our skills are not lost.

Where ever possible, we use Australian made quality steel and fittings in our tanks. Our process and systems are constantly evolving as we strive to become more efficient in every part of the design and production process. We scour the world for the worlds best practice in everything we do.

We live and breathe the Australian Standards related to all the different tanks we design and fabricate. As specialists, it is essential that we work with you, our customer, to make sure you understand your responsibilities when installing and maintaining your tank.

About you.

As an Australian Government, or Australian owned business, or a company working in this country, we ask you to buy our Australian made tanks rather than imported tanks.

You may occasionally find we charge a little more than the imported tanks from Asia; it is simply that we all enjoy a relatively high standard of living in this country. If we want to keep it that way, we need to support each other and buy Australian, please.

Working with us, you will get great value. You will find that our attention to detail, our understanding of the Australian Standards, and our workmanship is impeccable. Our processes and systems are robust and allow us to produce a consistently high-quality product.

Tanks we built twenty-five to thirty years ago are still in use today – many of them are sitting out in the harsh Australian environment on mine sites or in industrial complexes.

Thank you for supporting Australian made.

Our evolution.

Austank started in 1985 as a company building domestic heating oil tanks and lube oil tanks for suburban Melbourne and Sydney. As the use of heating oil declined, Austank diversified into manufacturing larger tanks for the petrochemical industry. From the 450 ltr oil tank that Austank started with, the Company now manufactures tanks ranging from 450 litres to 1.2 million litres.

Austank further diversified into the installation of new tanks and associated pipework. With our experience and knowledge of the regulations, we often act as consultants to customers at the design stage of a new installation and sometimes for existing sites to ensure that they comply with Australian Standards.

Removal and remediation.

Austank works closely with the Environmental Protection Authorities and various authorities across Australia in the decommissioning, removal & remediation of existing tanks and associated infrastructure.
