Self bunded fuel tanks

A Self Bunded fuel tanks have an integrated second skin that catches fluid in the event of a primary tank leak.

Having these tanks as an option eliminates the requirement for complex civil works associated with concrete or earth catchment bunds as well as the common problems associated with the separation and disposal of rainwater / fuel mixtures.

Austank’s Self Bunded fuel tanks can be placed on a compacted gravel base or concrete pad, thus minimising installation costs, environmental impact and set up time.

All our Self Bunded fuel tanks come with standard fittings as below:

  • 1 x 50NB BSP Pipe Dropper – Fill/Dip c/w calibrated dipstick & aluminium weatherproof cap or
  • 1 x 80NB BSP Pipe Dropper – Fill c/w aluminium weatherproof cap
  • 1 x 50NB/80NB Overfill Prevention Valve

These self bunded fuel tanks can be used in a range of applications; they are suitable for Diesel Fuel, Petroleum Fuels, Lube Oils, Aviation Fuels and Waste Oils.

They are approved for the following range:

  • up to 55,000 litres for PGII
  • up to 110,000 litres for PGIII, C1 & C2 liquids.

We now have approval for an engineered 200,000 litre Self Bunded (Diesel only) storage tank with the ability to vary the diameter (3.4m to 4.1m) and length to maximise on space available.

These tanks are built to withstand the test of time – there are still Austanks in situ after 25 years of being in operation.

Our painters provide the appropriate external coatings to suit the surrounding environment, from outback to coastal. They can also provide the appropriate internal coatings, where necessary, based on the MSDS of the product stored.
